About the Job
The Project Manager provides the planning, coordination, and direction for project and construction management activities to ensure they meet the project needs including cost, schedule (from initial project identification through construction closeout, under the direction of Project Director and Client. May supervise and team with office/field administrative staff, project/field engineers, assistant project/construction managers, project/construction managers and other assigned staff.
The Project Manager is responsible for providing the following services:
Point of contact for Client and other consultants/contractors for the contract, design, procurement, construction, and closeout of CA K14 and or civic projects
Develops project specific procedures and documentation, and consults with Client on design and construction contracts and related A/E systems for the project
Ensures contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications comply with construction/project requirements
Obtains, maintains, and manages data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and requirements between Owner, architects, engineers, and other project-related entities
Manages project controls, cost, and performance activities and procedures, project logistics, organization, and project closeout
Leads in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses
Coordinates and monitors activities of contractors, engineers, architects, and related sub-consultants/contractors
Ensures project team adheres to safety requirements
Manages procurement services, as may be required by the Client
Manages front-end and contract documents for construction including Divisions 00 and 01
Performs other duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent is required
Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Project Construction Manager (or equivalent) in another similar firm
Experience on projects larger than $100 million
Progressive knowledge of design-phase management, construction phase management, cost and project controls, scheduling, and documentation.
Knowledge of architecture/engineering and construction principles, contracts and delivery methods (specifically, design-build)
Thorough understanding of contracts documents, Division 00/01, drawings, and specifications and applied experience in the areas of project accounting, cost control, administrative, and personnel interaction in professional settings are required
Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, Bluebeam, and proficiency with project-related systems such as Prolog or other management software is required
Experience with CA K14 and or public agency projects
Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is preferred but not required
Certified Construction Managers or Project Management Professionals are preferred but not required
The annual base salary range for this role is currently $130,000 - $185,000. Salary ranges are subject to change at any time. Among other things, salary considerations include level of experience, geographic location, market sector, technical competencies, demonstrated ability to lead and mentor staff, emotional intelligence, and client alignment.
